Amazon is Hiring an Instructional Designer II Near Seattle, WA

Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Amazon via Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Amazon.

We're looking for someone to join our training team who is a strong writer with a passion for clarity and helping people learn. Ideally, you have experience designing and building online job aids and references, and writing materials that support classroom training events or content for e-learning solutions.

We are seeking someone with demonstrated experience designing and developing training materials in multiple modalities, with working knowledge of eLearning and video development tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Camtasia, vYond and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere in particular). As well as, experience collaborating with stakeholders, SMEs, and frontline employees/managers.

Our team develops and maintains training programs that support Amazon Fresh grocery store salaried and hourly team members. We have technical expertise to help us build interactive, online solutions for on-the-job training, but we need your thoughtful communication and people-skills. We are looking for a self-driven learner who can dive deep into complex content about our tools and systems, and then think through the best way to help other people learn them.

You must be able to:

-Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts to define learning objectives.

-Perform needs analysis and evaluate existing documentation to identify the most appropriate training approach and content to meet the demands of the learning objectives and audience.

-Plan and write content for training programs using instructional and distribution methods (online, classroom or blended) that best suit the content.

-Create engaging and valid trainee evaluation tools that prove successful knowledge transfer.

-Build processes and templates to minimize the development time for new training materials, and to help others participate in our development cycle.

- Help maintain existing programs to ensure the content remains complete and relevant

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasked, high energy environment. They will be a creative and analytical problem solver with a passion for helping people learn and for finding simple ways to convey complex ideas. 3-6 years of relevant experience.

You have some or all of the following: knowledge and application of instructional theories, adult learning, on the job learning, knowledge management theories, and principles in both on-line and classroom instruction. Alternately, if you have experience as a technical writer and background in any educational environment, and a desire and aptitude to learn about instructional design, you may be the right person for our team. Either way, you have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently.

Additional experience and competencies that are strongly preferred include:

• Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications, HTML and Photoshop

• Experience using e-learning software, such as Storyline or RISE

• Proven competence using a Learning Management System (LMS)

Contract Length: 4 months

Location: Seattle (Hybrid)

Pay Range: $33 - $37 per hour
